Reading classes are provided on 1:1 basis for primary school students. Book Clubs for each age group is also provided at Columbus Club Academy. We cater for 5 year olds, 6 year olds, 7 year olds, 8 year olds and (9-12) year olds.
One term of 1:1 reading classes Is normally sufficient to enhance a child’s reading levels. We work on phonetics, on deciphering word formation, on developing a natural flow in reading, spelling, and comprehension levels.
Book Clubs for each age group provide an opportunity for students to explore book covers, illustrations, storylines, plot, character analysis, other possible endings, and book reviews. All of these aspects help children explore their own potential and develop an interest in a range of different topics and themes.
